New Delhi: The ongoing conflict between America-Israel and Iran has now reached its 12th day. Due to this war, the situation in West Asia remains very tense and unstable. Because of this, a large number of Indian citizens are still stranded in various countries there.
Meanwhile, India’s leading airline Air India and its low-cost subsidiary Air India Express have shared important information regarding their flights. Both airlines are going to operate a total of 58 flights, including scheduled and charter services, for West Asia on March 11.
The impact of escalating tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran is now clearly visible across West Asia’s airspace. Several important air routes in the region have been temporarily closed, while strict restrictions have been imposed on some routes. Due to security reasons, many airlines are having to change their routes, which has also affected flight operations.
However, despite these challenging circumstances, the Air India group has decided to continue its services with caution instead of completely suspending them. The airline states that flights are being operated as planned, giving paramount priority to passenger safety. The situation is also being continuously monitored so that immediate decisions can be made if necessary.
Air India and its low-cost subsidiary Air India Express have announced that on Wednesday, March 11, both airlines will jointly operate a total of 58 scheduled and non-scheduled flights between West Asia and India. These flights will ensure the movement of a large number of passengers, including Indians residing in West Asia for work, business, or other reasons.
In its official statement released on Tuesday, Air India stated that its scheduled flight services to key destinations like Jeddah and Muscat will continue on March 11. The airline also clarified that all flights are being operated with extra caution and under strict security protocols given the current situation.
Earlier, according to data released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Indian airline companies operated a total of 45 flights from West Asia to India on March 9. Through these flights, 7,047 passengers arrived in India. This number indicates that despite the tense situation, air connectivity between the two regions has not been completely disrupted.
Additionally, Air India and Air India Express also operate several irregular or extra flights to and from the United Arab Emirates. According to information, both airlines operate approximately 36 such flights for the UAE, depending on slot availability and operational circumstances. The purpose of these flights is to meet the increasing passenger demand and maintain essential connectivity.
Experts believe that if tensions in West Asia continue for a long time, it could have a further impact on air traffic. In such a scenario, airlines and related agencies are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure passenger safety and smooth travel.
