Bangladesh Central Contract: After being eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2026, the Bangladesh Cricket Board released a new central contract list for players on February 19. This time, a total of 28 players have been included in the contract.
However, Test team opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy could not make it to this list. Interestingly, the ‘A+’ category has been kept empty in the released list. This time, the board has implemented a new structure by dividing players into four grades—A, B, C, and D.
Shock for Taskin Ahmed and Mushfiqur Rahim
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has placed Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Litton Kumar Das, and Taskin Ahmed in Grade A this time. Although Taskin was previously in the A+ category, he has been demoted by one grade in the new list.
Similarly, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who was previously in Grade A, has now moved to Category B. Along with him in Grade B, Mominul Haque, Taijul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Towhid Hridoy, Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Rishad Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana have also found a place.
Meanwhile, Soumya Sarkar, Jaker Ali Anik, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nasum Ahmed, and Syed Khalid Ahmed have been included in Grade C.
Seven players have been placed in Category D, including Saif Hassan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanvir Islam, Naim Hasan, Hasan Murad, Shamim Hossain, and Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan.
How much salary will each grade receive?
Under the new central contract structure, a different monthly salary has been fixed for each category.
Players in Category A will receive 8 lakh Bangladeshi Taka every month, which is equivalent to approximately 6 lakh Indian Rupees.
The monthly salary for players in Category B has been fixed at 6 lakh Bangladeshi Taka, which is approximately 4.5 lakh Rupees.
Players in Grade C will receive 4 lakh Taka per month, which is equivalent to approximately 2.9 lakh Rupees.
Players placed in Category D will be given 2 lakh Bangladeshi Taka every month, which amounts to approximately 1.5 lakh Rupees.
Thus, the board has determined the salary structure of players based on performance and role.
