Ahmed Raza Hasan Mahdi Arrest: A Bangladeshi student has been detained in Delhi, identified as Mahdi Ahmed Raza Hasan. He was reportedly wanted in connection with the murder of a Hindu police officer in Bangladesh.
The Immigration Department completed the necessary legal process after catching him and then deported him back to Bangladesh.
It is being reported that a video of Mahdi also surfaced on social media during the violence. In that video, he was allegedly seen threatening police personnel inside the police station.
Mahdi Ahmed Raza Hasan, who was trying to flee to Finland, was caught in time. He is accused of murdering a Hindu police officer during the violence in Bangladesh. The deceased officer has been identified as Santosh Chowdhury. It is being reported that the accused was planning to go to Finland via India, but the Immigration Department took him into custody and foiled his attempt to escape.
According to reports, Mahdi Ahmed Raza Hasan is accused of killing police officer Santosh Chowdhury. It is said that this incident occurred during an attack on the Baniachong Police Station. After the attack, Santosh Chowdhury’s body was found hanging from a tree, which caused a sensation in the area. This incident is said to be of August 5, 2024, the day the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh had to leave the country. The matter is being investigated by the concerned agencies.
According to an NDTV report, during the violent protests against the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh, Hindu police officer Santosh Chowdhury had been married only a few months at the time of his murder. Three months after Santosh’s death in the attack on the Baniachong police station in Habiganj, his wife gave birth to a son. The violence of the rioters snatched away the child’s father’s shadow before he even came into the world.
On the day of the incident, a furious mob surrounded the police station, attacked it, and committed arson within the premises. According to reports, during this attack, police officer Santosh Chowdhury was surrounded by the mob and assaulted, resulting in his death. Some claims also stated that the attackers had set him on fire.
