Continuous earthquake tremors are being felt in India’s neighboring country Myanmar for the past few days, creating an atmosphere of fear among the people. In this sequence, the earth shook once again on Saturday. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), a magnitude 3.9 earthquake was recorded in Myanmar.

Providing information on the social media platform X, the NCS stated that this earthquake occurred on February 7, 2026, at 3:01:45 AM Indian Standard Time. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at 24.76 degrees north latitude and 94.74 degrees east longitude, while its depth was measured at about 85 kilometers. Due to the continuous earthquakes, people in many areas of Myanmar are in panic, and the administration is also keeping an eye on the situation.

Earthquake tremors have been felt several times in Myanmar during the last week. On Friday, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake was recorded here, the center of which was about 96 kilometers below the ground. Before this, on February 2, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred, the depth of which was stated to be 115 kilometers. At the same time, the magnitude 5.3 earthquake on February 3 increased people’s anxiety because its center was at a depth of just 20 kilometers.

According to experts, the apprehension of aftershocks remains after an earthquake occurring at a shallow depth. This is the reason why there is still a fear of feeling mild tremors in many areas of Myanmar. Local people are terrified by the continuous earthquakes. The situation is such that many people are unable to sleep properly at night and get scared by every slight movement.

Many Cities in Myanmar in High-Risk Zone

Concern about earthquakes is constantly increasing in major cities like Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, and Yangon in Myanmar. All these areas are considered seismically sensitive, where about 46 percent of the country’s population resides. For this reason, the impact of any big shock here can be widespread.

Although Yangon is not located directly on the fault line, its dense population makes it more risky. History also points towards this danger. In the year 1903, tremors of a magnitude 7 earthquake in Bago were felt up to Yangon.

It is being reported that due to the frequent earthquakes in recent days, many families have started considering safer options, and people have become very cautious about the future.
