Following the T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC has made another significant announcement, releasing the Player of the Month nominations for February. This time, the race for this prestigious award includes three players: one each from Pakistan, England, and America. The decision on which of these three players will receive this honor will be announced later.
For this month’s Player of the Month award, the ICC has shortlisted three players. They include Pakistan’s opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan, England’s all-rounder Will Jacks, and America’s bowler Shadley van Schalkwyk.
In the T20 World Cup 2026, Sahibzada Farhan showed exceptional batting prowess, scoring the most runs. Although the Pakistan team could not reach the semi-finals, Farhan’s performance remained a talking point throughout the tournament. He scored a total of 383 runs, including two centuries. Previously, the record for most runs in a T20 World Cup was held by Virat Kohli, who scored 319 runs in 2014. Farhan surpassed this record, setting a new benchmark.
A notable aspect was his centuries against Namibia and Sri Lanka. With this, he became the first batsman to score two centuries in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
The ICC has also nominated England’s all-rounder Will Jacks for the Player of the Month award. England’s team reached the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup 2026, and Jacks played a crucial role with both bat and ball in this journey. He scored 194 runs and took 11 wickets in the tournament. Due to his outstanding performance, he also received the Player of the Match award four times, which was a special achievement in this World Cup.
Meanwhile, America’s fast bowler Shadley van Schalkwyk is also among the contenders for this award. This left-arm bowler took a total of 13 wickets in the tournament. Notably, he gave his team a strong start by taking four wickets in the first match against India and also secured four wickets in the next encounter. Now, it will be interesting to see which of these three players succeeds in winning this prestigious ICC honor.
