Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is currently in the headlines for several reasons. On one hand, the release of his last film ‘Jana Nayakan’ has been postponed for the past two months, while on the other hand, his personal life remains a topic of discussion due to controversies. Amidst all this, the Karur stampede case has further increased his troubles.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has once again summoned Vijay in this case. Earlier, the actor had been questioned on January 12 and 19. Now, the agency has issued another summons to him. As per the scheduled program, Vijay will be interrogated in Delhi on March 15 in this matter.

Interrogation has happened before

Thalapathy Vijay has been questioned before in the Karur stampede case. On January 12 and 19, the CBI had called him to its headquarters for questioning. During this, some new aspects emerged in the investigation. To seek clarification on these points, the agency has now issued another summons to Vijay. Apart from Vijay, a MLA from Karur has also been sent a notice by the CBI, who will be questioned on March 17.

Karur Stampede Case

This case is related to the stampede that occurred in Karur, Tamil Nadu, on September 27, 2025. In that incident, 41 people died, while more than 60 people were injured. The accident happened during a political rally of Vijay, where a large number of people had gathered to see him. As the crowd grew, the situation became uncontrollable and a stampede broke out. Initially, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was investigating the case, but later, on the directions of the Supreme Court, the investigation was handed over to the CBI. Now, the agency is taking the investigation forward.

Many people have been interrogated

The CBI has already questioned several people in this case. The investigating agency had also summoned the officers and personnel of the Tamil Nadu Police who were deployed at the spot for Vijay’s security on the day of the incident. Policemen were interrogated at the base camp in Karur, where they were asked several questions about Vijay’s activities and his movement times on the day of the stampede.

Additionally, the CBI has also recorded the statements of Karur District Collector M. Thangavel and SP K. Jose in this case. Both officials were present at the scene on the day of the stampede, so the agency sought information from them about the entire situation and arrangements made on that day.
