Naman Awards 2026: The prestigious Naman Awards 2026, held in New Delhi, celebrated the historic achievements of Indian cricket. On this occasion, BCCI honored India’s five World Cup winning teams. During the ceremony, players from these teams were presented with mementos, commemorating their splendid achievements and contributions.

In recent years, Indian cricket has delivered excellent performances on the international stage, clinching several major ICC titles. To honor this achievement, India’s five World Cup winning teams were felicitated at a ceremony held in New Delhi. These included the winning teams of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. During the ceremony, players from these teams were honored, celebrating the continuous successes of Indian cricket.

At the youth level too, Indian teams have performed brilliantly, bringing glory to the nation. India’s Under-19 women’s team, led by Captain Nikki Prasad, defeated South Africa in the final of the 2025 Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup to clinch the title. Similarly, the men’s Under-19 team also displayed excellent play, winning the Under-19 World Cup this year under the leadership of Captain Ayush Mhatre, bringing another major success to India.

Indian senior teams have also achieved several historic milestones with excellent performances in recent years. The men’s senior team won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Following this, at the end of the year, the women’s team made history by winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 under the leadership of Captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

Recently, India achieved another major success by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 title. In the final match, the Indian team defeated New Zealand to set a record of winning the T20 World Cup for the third time. These five World Cups across different categories indicate that India possesses immense cricketing talent, and its influence in world cricket may strengthen further in the coming times.

During the Naman Awards, BCCI honored three great players of Indian cricket with the Colonel C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. Rahul Dravid, Mithali Raj, and Roger Binny were bestowed with this honor, having taken Indian cricket to new heights with their splendid careers.

Additionally, Shubman Gill, captain of the Indian Test and ODI teams, was awarded the Best International Men’s Cricketer for the 2024–25 season. In the women’s category, this honor went to star batter Smriti Mandhana, who secured many crucial victories for Team India with her excellent performance.
