After Rohit Shetty, news has come to light that actor Ranveer Singh has also received a threat. It is being reported that an unknown individual has demanded crores of rupees from him via a WhatsApp voice note. Upon receiving information about the matter, the police have started an investigation.
As a precaution, Ranveer Singh’s security has been increased. Armed security personnel have been deployed outside his apartment. However, some members of the society are feeling uncomfortable with this extra security arrangement. According to information, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone live in the BEAU MONDE apartment located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. After the threat was received, armed security was deployed within the building premises. Regarding this, the society’s committee has submitted a memorandum to the local police seeking clarity on the situation.
Resentment in the society regarding armed security
Members of the society have expressed objection regarding the deployment of armed security in the building. In a letter submitted to the local police station, the society stated that six armed guards and police personnel are deployed in the gym and common areas of the premises. The letter also raised the question of whether the police had prior information about this deployment.
The society committee has sought clarification from the police on three separate points. They state that permission was not taken from the society before implementing such a security arrangement, which has created an atmosphere of anxiety and discomfort among the residents.
Permission was not taken from the society
The society committee has submitted a memorandum to the local police regarding the deployment of armed security personnel in the building premises. Three important questions have been raised in this.
First, are the deployed private security guards carrying licensed weapons within the residential premises?
Second, has the Dadar Police Station given any formal permission for this?
Third, what are the full details of the police personnel deployed at the concerned flat, including which department they have been deployed from and what the nature of their duty is? The society says that their permission was not taken before implementing this arrangement.
Ranveer received a threatening voice message
According to preliminary information, a voice note was sent to Ranveer Singh’s assistant on WhatsApp in this matter. It is being reported that the unknown person sent an audio message instead of calling, possibly because calls from unknown numbers might be blocked.
According to sources, it is feared that 8 to 10 other people associated with the film industry may have also been sent similar threatening messages. However, in most cases, no formal complaint has been lodged so far. Significantly, a firing incident outside director Rohit Shetty’s house had also recently come to light, in which the Mumbai Police has arrested five accused.
