After Rajpal Yadav’s emotional statement surfaced on Tuesday, actor Sonu Sood openly supported him. Rajpal had mentioned financial crunch and loneliness in his statement. Following this, Sonu Sood expressed his views through social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram stories.

6 months jail sentence
In the case of seven bounced checks given to the complainant, the actor was sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment. This decision was also upheld by the Sessions Court in early 2019. After this, a revision petition was filed in the Delhi High Court, but as time passed, his legal troubles kept increasing.
In June 2024, the court temporarily suspended the sentence and directed to make “honest and concrete efforts” to repay the outstanding amount. By then, the outstanding amount had reached about 9 crore rupees. However, due to repeatedly missing deadlines and unfulfilled promises, the court’s stance gradually became stricter.
