The situation in Balochistan is becoming increasingly difficult for Pakistan. Here, Baloch fighters are emerging as a major challenge for Pakistani soldiers. The Balochistan that Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir used to describe as the pride of the country, now seems to be slipping out of his control.

The fight for independence has intensified in the province and Baloch rebels are continuously attacking the Pakistani army. Under Operation ‘Herof 2.0’ launched by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on January 31, news has surfaced that about 400 Pakistani security personnel have been killed so far.

Baloch Rebels Overpowering Pak Army

From Quetta to Noshki, in more than a dozen districts of Balochistan, fighters of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) are currently maintaining pressure on the Pakistani army. The situation has become so serious that the Pakistani army has had to take to the streets with tanks to handle the front against the BLA. Despite this, the situation does not seem to be coming under control and the presence of tanks is also proving ineffective in stopping the BLA rebels.

Allegations of Atrocities Against Pakistani Army

According to information coming from Mastung in Balochistan, fighters of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) are capturing several government buildings including police stations. The situation is such that while the Pakistani army appears unable to directly combat the BLA fighters, its pressure seems to be falling on ordinary civilians.

According to sources, in the Nushki area, the Pakistani army destroyed a Baloch civilian’s house with explosives. Apart from this, there are reports of houses being set on fire in several residential areas, creating an atmosphere of fear and resentment among the local people.

Maulana’s Sharp Jibes at Sharif–Munir

Security conditions are continuously becoming challenging for Pakistan. After Balochistan, the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also appears out of control, where terrorist incidents are increasing and attacks have reached Islamabad. Against this backdrop, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has raised questions regarding Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Taking a dig, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that the government claims that not even a pomegranate can enter Pakistan from Afghanistan, so how are terrorists entering the country from there? His statement has sparked a new debate on Pakistan’s security system and government claims.

Maulana’s Taunts on Sharif–Munir

The security situation in Pakistan seems to be deteriorating continuously. While the army’s control in Balochistan appears to be weakening, the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is no different. Conditions have become so bad that terrorists are reaching the capital Islamabad and carrying out attacks.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has made a sharp sarcasm at Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. Questioning the government’s claims, the Maulana said that when it is claimed that not even a pomegranate can enter Pakistan from Afghanistan, then how are terrorists entering inside the country from there? His statement has raised serious questions on the functioning of the government and security agencies.
