Various discussions regarding Salim Khan’s health had been going on in social media and the film industry for the last few hours, but now the picture is clear. When the news emerged on Tuesday morning that the 89-year-old veteran writer had been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, the concern of fans and people associated with Bollywood increased.
Following this, family members including Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan reached the hospital, which further fueled the rumors. In some reports, his condition was described as critical, while elsewhere there was talk of a major surgery. However, hospital management and doctors have now dismissed all these speculations and clarified that the situation is not as serious as it was being described.
No surgery has taken place
On Wednesday morning, Dr. Jalil Parkar issued an official statement clarifying that the news regarding Salim Khan’s surgery is completely wrong. He stated that Salim Khan had suffered a mild brain hemorrhage, for the treatment of which a special medical procedure was adopted.
The team of doctors performed an examination and related procedure called DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography), which was successful. This is a diagnostic test and is not considered open surgery in any way. After this clear statement from the doctor, all the speculations spreading regarding his operation have been put to rest.
Salim Khan is currently in the ICU
Salim Khan has been kept in the ICU for now as a precaution. According to Dr. Jalil Parkar, he has been placed on ventilator support at this time, but this step has been taken only to improve his recovery. Doctors are hopeful that considering the improvement in his health, he will be taken off the ventilator by today or tomorrow. A team of four specialist doctors is monitoring him 24 hours a day for his care. Even in the health bulletin issued on Tuesday evening, his condition was described as “stable,” which has brought much relief to the family and fans.
Entire family with Salim Khan
As soon as the news of Salim Khan’s health was received, family and close friends started visiting the hospital. Along with Salman Khan, his sisters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan Sharma were also present. Brothers-in-law Atul Agnihotri and Aayush Sharma, as well as Arbaaz Khan with his wife Sshura Khan, reached the hospital. Arhaan and Nirvan Khan were also present there.
Apart from this, Salma Khan and veteran actress Helen reached the hospital to support the family. Close friend Sanjay Dutt also visited to inquire about his well-being, while Javed Akhtar reached the hospital on Wednesday morning. Doctors have appealed to the media and fans to maintain the family’s privacy.
