What Rahul Dravid Said in the Interview
Former head coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid, in a conversation with NDTV, said that the biggest strength of the Indian team is its depth. According to him, India does not depend on 1-2 players, but rather has many match-winning players in the team. He stated that T20 cricket is a very unpredictable format and the outcome can change on any given day. Citing his experience as a coach, he said that it is important to trust the process, play according to preparations, and hope for good results.
Dravid further added that he is ready to see any team face India. He gave an example, saying that if India were to face Zimbabwe in the final, it would be a great achievement for Zimbabwe cricket. He believes that if an emerging or smaller team gets a chance to reach the final, it would be a special moment for the tournament as well.
What Did Rahul Dravid Say About Associate Teams?
Rahul Dravid said that the most special aspect of this T20 World Cup has been the performance of the Associate teams. According to him, the kind of cricket these teams have played has attracted everyone’s attention.
Dravid said there is no shortage of talent in Associate nations, and this was clearly visible in this tournament. Although many teams could not reach the Super-8 stage due to the difficulty of this format, they still played brilliantly and proved that they possess strong young talent.
