Mumbai Police, taking major action in this matter, has exposed a ticket black marketing racket. This case is related to the T20 World Cup, which was hosted by India and Sri Lanka this year, and which India won.
According to information, tickets for the India vs. England semi-final match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 5 were being black marketed. In this case, the police have arrested a coach and a former cricketer.
Former Cricketer Arrested
According to the report, the police have arrested 26-year-old Balwant Singh Sodha, who was previously part of Mumbai’s Under-19 team. The police state that he played a crucial role in this entire network and was responsible for arranging the tickets. These tickets were later sold at inflated prices through his associates.
According to information, semi-final match tickets were sold for up to 25 to 35 thousand rupees. So far, a total of 6 people have been arrested in this case, including a college sports teacher and a non-teaching staff member.
According to media reports, these tickets might have been passes given to people associated with the Mumbai Cricket Association or guests. The accused acquired them and started selling them further. Some tickets were sold directly to people, while others were sold online.
