On Monday morning, gold and silver prices showed weakness in the futures market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) at around 9:57 AM, the price of the 5 June delivery gold contract fell by 0.26% or 506 rupees compared to the previous session, reaching 1,49,294 rupees per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, 5 May 2026 delivery silver also remained under pressure, with its price recorded at 2,31,250 rupees per kilogram, a decline of 0.54%.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold prices saw slight fluctuations. Gold futures opened at 1,48,847 rupees per 10 grams, while it had closed at 1,49,680 rupees in the previous session. At around 11:10 AM, it was trading with a gain of 0.15% at 1,49,904 rupees and touched a day’s high of 1,50,319 rupees.
As for silver, the 5 May 2026 futures remained almost stable. It started at 2,30,716 rupees and reached a high of 2,33,479 rupees during trading.
Regarding silver rates in major cities across the country, 10 grams of silver are selling for approximately 2,500 rupees in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, meaning about 25,000 rupees for 100 grams. In Chennai, the price of 10 grams of silver is approximately 2,550 rupees.
