West Bengal Elections: The Election Commission has released the new district-wise voter list for the first time. Names of 91 lakh voters have been removed from this list. For the first time, the Election Commission has issued a district-wise list of voters, from which a large number of names have been removed. The Election Commission stated that a total of 6,006,675 voters were under scrutiny, of which 2,716,393 names have been removed.
In the preliminary final list released on February 28, names of 6,366,952 people were already removed. According to updated figures, the total number of voters removed has now increased to over 90 lakh (9,083,345).
The Election Commission stated that out of 6,006,675 voters under scrutiny, data for 5,984,512 people has been made public. The remaining 22,163 cases have been resolved, but they have not yet received digital signatures. After this process is complete, the number of removed names may increase further.
Major revelation for the first time in district-wise data
For the first time, the Election Commission has released detailed district-wise data, categorizing voters into eligible and ineligible categories. According to information, over 60 lakh voters were under scrutiny, of which approximately 32 lakh were deemed eligible, while around 27 lakh people were declared ineligible.

Speaking of districts, the highest number of names were removed in Murshidabad, where around 4.55 lakh voters were found ineligible. This is followed by North 24 Parganas, where approximately 3.25 lakh names were removed from the list.
Meanwhile, in Malda, about 2.39 lakh, and in Nadia, approximately 2.08 lakh voters’ names have been removed from the list.
