Terror Attack in Nigeria: Terrorists Kill 11 People, Set Village Ablaze

 

In a remote village near Maiduguri (Borno) in Nigeria’s northeastern region, a late-night violent attack took place, claiming the lives of 11 people. Two others were seriously injured in this incident. Local administration confirmed the attack on Wednesday, stating that the attackers set several houses on fire, spreading panic throughout the area.

The terrorist organization Boko Haram is suspected to be behind this attack. The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Pubagu village, located on the edge of the Sambisa forest in Borno state, which was previously considered relatively safe.

Borno state has long been a center for Islamic extremism and security challenges, where incidents of violence are frequently reported. Villagers performed the last rites of the deceased on Wednesday and blamed the extremist group for the attack.

Local council head Mawada Saidu Uba stated that the area was previously considered peaceful and no major incident of this nature had ever occurred here before. Meanwhile, both injured individuals are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital, where doctors are monitoring their condition.

This incident is another grave link in the ongoing violence in Africa’s most populous country, where the security situation has remained challenging for a long time. According to information, the attack took place late Tuesday night in Pubagu village, a remote area on the edge of the Sambisa forest in Nigeria’s Borno state.

Borno state has been considered a major center of the struggle against Islamic extremism for years. Following the attack, villagers performed the last rites for the deceased on Wednesday and blamed the terrorist organization Boko Haram for the incident.

Local administration representative Mawada Saidu Uba stated that Pubagu village was previously considered relatively safe and no such major violent incident had been recorded there before. He said the attack was sudden and caused panic across the region.

Currently, both injured individuals are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, where doctors are continuously monitoring their condition.
