However, all these rumors have now been put to rest, and ‘Dhurandhar’ fame actress Sara Arjun has been officially finalized for the film.
According to reports, Sara Arjun has been finalized for the lead role in this biopic. The film’s production is planned to commence in July 2026. Renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is associated with this ambitious project as a producer, while the directorial responsibilities will be handled by Jasmeet K Reen. Jasmeet previously made her directorial debut with the film Darlings in 2022.
It is reported that this project was in the development stage for quite some time, but was delayed due to budget-related reasons. Now, after overcoming all hurdles, the biopic has regained momentum and is once again moving toward production. This has further heightened the audience’s excitement for the film based on Madhubala’s life.
Sara Arjun has started making necessary changes to her look for this biopic and has formally begun her preparation for the character of Madhubala. It is said that she is transforming herself in a unique way for this role to ensure the character is portrayed effectively on screen.
