IND vs PAK: The uncertainty surrounding the match between India and Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has now ended. After Pakistan stepped back from its threat of a boycott, it has been confirmed that both teams will face each other on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Now, the first official reaction from the BCCI on this entire matter has come to the fore. BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla credited the International Cricket Council (ICC) for resolving the dispute. He said that prioritizing cricket, a positive and amicable solution was found, which has brought great relief to crores of cricket fans in both countries.

Solution emerged from ICC’s initiative

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla told the media that the ICC’s initiative and discussions held under the supervision of its Chairman played a key role in resolving this entire dispute. He mentioned that ICC representatives had gone to Lahore to talk with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), after which a positive change in the situation was observed.

Expressing happiness over this result, Rajeev Shukla said that through the efforts of the ICC, the supervision of the Chairman, and the talks with PCB and BCB, a balanced and amicable solution prioritizing cricket has emerged. According to him, the ICC fully deserves congratulations for this initiative.

Big achievement for ICC

The BCCI Vice-President termed this entire sequence of events a major success for the ICC. He stated that getting Pakistan ready for talks and resolving the issue in time was not an easy task. According to him, this reflects the diplomatic and administrative capability of the ICC.

Expressing gratitude to the ICC, he said that without the organization’s initiative, this solution would not have been possible. Ultimately, Pakistan agreed to play the match in Colombo, and the contest will take place on February 15 as per the schedule. Calling it good news for all cricket lovers, he said that now this World Cup will become an example of a successful event.

Bangladesh also got relief

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla mentioned that Bangladesh’s sentiments were also fully taken care of in this entire process. Even though Bangladesh is not able to participate in the T20 World Cup, their cricket board has been given relief following the ICC’s discussions.

According to Rajeev Shukla, the concerns of the Bangladesh Board were heard during the discussion, and they received satisfactory assurances. For this reason, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is also satisfied with this solution and is appreciating the ICC’s efforts. Describing it as beneficial for all parties, he said that this has proven to be completely a ‘win-win situation’.
