Following the escalating controversy over the song, Advocate Vineet Jindal lodged a complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Objecting to the lyrics and presentation of the song ‘Sarke Chunariya Teri Sarke’ from the Kannada film ‘KD: The Devil’, he demanded its ban. This song features Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, and its audio version was recently released, which also showed glimpses of some dance moves.
Immediately after its release, controversy erupted over the song’s lyrics. The complaint alleged that the song’s lyrics and visuals are vulgar and could have a negative impact, especially on minors. Amidst the growing controversy, the production house has removed the Hindi version of the song from YouTube.
Although the Hindi version of the song has been removed from YouTube, its versions in other languages are still available. The lyrics for this song, filmed on Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, were written by Rakib Alam, Mangli lent her voice, and Charan Janya composed its music. KVN Productions released its promo on March 13, while the full song was released on March 14. Currently, the Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions can be seen on various platforms.
With the song’s release, the controversy also intensified. Viewers expressed their displeasure over its lyrics and dance and heavily criticized it on social media. Many users called it objectionable in the comment section, while protests were also registered by sharing the video on other platforms. Amidst the growing opposition to the song’s lyrics and dance steps, demands for its ban also began to rise.
Following the escalating controversy, the song’s lyricist, Rakib Alam, has offered his clarification. In an interview with ‘Navbharat Times’, he stated that the original song was written in Kannada, and he received instructions from the makers to translate it into Hindi in the same manner.
According to Rakib Alam, he had already warned the director that a direct translation could lead to problems and that the Censor Board might object to it. However, the director assured him that they would handle the situation. Following this, he translated the song verbatim.
