Trump Says Israel-Iran War Could End Soon, Hormuz Opening Deadline Extended

Despite US President Donald Trump’s claims of halting attacks on Iran, the conflict between Israel and Iran continues rapidly. On Tuesday, both sides launched several attacks on each other. The US is reportedly involved with Israel in this war. Trump indicated no attack on Iran for the next five days, but Iran flatly refused any talks until its conditions were met.

Despite this, Trump has expressed hope that this conflict between Israel, Iran, and the US could end soon.

No immediate possibility of war stopping

Even if Trump is hoping for the war to stop, there is currently no indication that the conflict will cease. He states that his government is engaged in “productive talks” with Tehran, which could increase the chances of the war ending. Meanwhile, Iran has flatly refused any talks with the US.

Trump Extends Deadline for Opening Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump extended the deadline for opening the Strait of Hormuz for Iran on Monday. He stated that the US would wait five more days before attacking Iranian power plants, so that American representatives could negotiate with “a respected” Iranian leader. Iranian officials say Trump’s offer is a “retreat after Iran’s stern warning.”

Before Trump’s announcement, oil prices plummeted, and a wave of relief swept through financial markets. Since the war began, the market has seen sharp fluctuations, as it is still unclear how long the conflict will last.
