Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Puducherry on Friday and participated in the assembly election campaign. Here, he held a roadshow spanning approximately 1.2 kilometers and greeted the public.
Several senior NDA leaders were also present with the Prime Minister at the roadshow. A large number of people were present, who showed their support and gave a grand welcome upon seeing PM Modi.
PM Modi Urges Support for NDA in Puducherry
After landing at Puducherry Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went straight to Ajanta Signal Junction, from where his roadshow began. This roadshow passed through the approximately 1.2 km long Anna Salai route and concluded near the statue of Kamaraj.
During the roadshow, PM Modi interacted with party workers and supporters and urged everyone to support the NDA.
Massive Crowd Gathers at PM Modi’s Roadshow
Thousands of people participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow. In view of his visit, strict security arrangements were made in Puducherry. More than 1,000 policemen, along with paramilitary forces, were deployed. Barricades were also put up on the roads to control the crowd.
Puducherry Assembly Elections: BJP Contesting on 10 Seats
In the 30-seat Puducherry Assembly, BJP is contesting on 10 seats. The main alliance is with AINRC.
Elections in Puducherry will be held in a single phase, and voting will take place on April 9. Other NDA partners AINRC has fielded candidates on 16 assembly seats, AIADMK on 2, and Latchiya Jananayaga Katchi on 2.
