The Hockey World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by the Netherlands and Belgium, is set to begin on August 15, with the final match scheduled for August 30. The International Hockey Federation had already announced the tournament’s pools, and now the full schedule has also been declared.
This time, both India’s men’s and women’s teams have successfully qualified for the World Cup, and both have been placed in Pool D. A significant point is that in the men’s category, India and Pakistan are in the same pool, and the date for their much-anticipated clash has also been revealed.
Team India will begin its campaign in the Hockey World Cup 2026 on August 15. Team India, placed in Pool D, will play all its league matches at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen.
India’s first match will be against Wales, followed by a clash with England on August 17. Meanwhile, in the final Pool Stage match on August 19, India will face Pakistan, a match eagerly awaited by everyone.
A total of four groups have been formed in the tournament. After the Pool Stage, the top-2 teams from Groups A and C will advance to Pool E, while the top-2 teams from Groups B and D will secure spots in Pool F and progress in the race for the title. Both men’s semi-final matches will be played on August 28.
India’s women’s hockey team will start its campaign in the Hockey World Cup 2026 with a match against China on August 16. The team will then face South Africa on August 18, and in its final Pool Stage match on August 20, it will take on England.
The women’s semi-final matches will be played on August 27, while the final match will be held in Amsterdam on August 29.
