Blast Creates Sensation in Kerala, BJP Worker’s House Targeted, Forensic Team Arrives for Investigation

The atmosphere around the assembly elections in Kerala is heating up. Amidst political rhetoric, incidents of targeting workers are also coming to light. A case of explosives being thrown at the house of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker in Kannur’s Kathirur area has come to light. After the incident, the police have started an investigation and efforts are being made to get to the bottom of the entire matter.

Explosive Blasted with a Loud Bang

According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday night at the house of Majisha Pathayakkunnu in the Konkachi area near Kathirur. According to the FIR, two unknown persons arrived there around 8:50 PM and started misbehaving with Majisha. After that, they threw an explosive towards the house, which exploded with a loud bang.

Forensic Team Investigating

The Kathirur police station has registered a case based on Majisha’s complaint, and efforts are underway to identify the culprits. Meanwhile, forensic experts have also been called to the spot and are investigating the explosive to determine whether it was a firecracker or a country-made bomb.

Political activity has intensified in Kerala due to the assembly elections. According to the Election Commission’s schedule, voting for the state’s 140 seats will take place in a single phase on April 9, 2026. The election results will be declared on May 4, 2026.
