‘Dhurandhar 2’ is set to release in theaters on March 19, while its premiere shows are starting today. There is tremendous excitement among the audience for the film, and advance bookings have also been very strong. According to reports, the film has already earned more than 60 crore rupees from worldwide advance bookings. In such a scenario, it is speculated that the film could open with approximately 200 crore rupees on its first day.
Not only this, there is also talk of challenging the records of big films like ‘Pushpa 2’ and ‘Baahubali’ at the box office.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, this film comes after the tremendous success of its first part. ‘Dhurandhar’ had grossed over 1300 crore rupees worldwide after its release and set many big records. It became one of India’s highest-grossing Hindi films and also set a new record in the A-rated category. The special thing was that even without major promotion and marketing, the film gained immense popularity among the audience and created a stir at the box office.
The dominance of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is clearly visible in advance bookings. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the audience for the film, and trade experts believe that its earnings could cross the 100 crore rupee mark on the first day.
So far, the film has achieved more than 47 crore rupees in advance bookings in India alone, while globally this figure has crossed 60 crore rupees. Most tickets have been sold in Maharashtra, from where a collection of over 10 crore rupees has been reported.
Interestingly, more than 1 crore rupees in advance bookings have also come from Andhra Pradesh, which clearly indicates that the film’s craze is rapidly growing in the South as well.
Will ‘Dhurandhar 2’ be able to break the records of ‘Pushpa 2’ and ‘Baahubali’? There is much discussion about this in trade circles. Given the tremendous response the film is receiving, experts are also expecting big numbers.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh believes that the possibilities for the film are quite high. According to him, after the tremendous success of the first part, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ can set new records in every phase—paid previews, opening day, weekend, and lifetime collection. He estimates that the first day’s earnings for the Hindi version could be between 80 to 90 crore rupees.
Meanwhile, trade expert Atul Mohan also considers the atmosphere created around this film to be very strong. He says that the audience’s enthusiasm for ‘Dhurandhar 2’ appears to be even greater than for ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Pushpa 2’. According to him, the film could earn 75 to 80 crore rupees at the domestic box office on the first day and set new records with paid previews.
Expectations are also high for global collections. Film trade expert Ramesh Bala estimates that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ could earn between 150 to 175 crore rupees worldwide on its first day (including premiere shows). He also states that it would not be surprising if the film touches the 200 crore mark. Additionally, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ could benefit from not clashing with any major film, which could further strengthen its collection.
