Mobile Phones Banned in Kedarnath Temple; Photography and Videos Prohibited

A major decision has been taken regarding the arrangements at Kedarnath Temple. The temple committee of this holy shrine located in Uttarakhand has decided to completely ban the use of mobile phones within the premises.

According to the committee, this step has been taken with the aim of maintaining the dignity and spiritual atmosphere of the temple. Additionally, considering the increasing crowd and the convenience of devotees, this decision was deemed necessary. It is believed that the excessive use of mobiles, especially the trend of taking photos and videos, was affecting the worship and darshan arrangements.

Following the implementation of this new rule, devotees will not be allowed to use mobile phones in the temple complex so that everyone can have darshan in a peaceful and organized manner and the religious atmosphere is maintained.

Further tightening the rules at Kedarnath Temple, the temple committee has made it clear that making any kind of photo, video, or reel inside the premises will be completely prohibited. According to committee member Vineet Posti, devotees will no longer be allowed to carry mobile phones into the temple complex.

The administration has also warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate these rules. This step has been taken specifically in view of the increasing trend of making reels or videos for social media, to ensure that the sanctity and discipline of the temple are maintained.

The temple administration has appealed to all devotees for cooperation. They have been asked to follow the set rules and fulfill their responsibility in maintaining the dignity of the religious site, so that all devotees can have darshan in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The administration took this important decision just a day before the opening of the doors of Kedarnath Temple. Like every year, the doors of the temple will be opened for devotees on April 22 at 8 AM. Before this, as per the traditional process, the ‘Doli’ of Lord Kedarnath has left Gaurikund for the shrine. It is believed that the doors are opened only after the Doli reaches the temple, marking the beginning of the darshan.

After being closed for about six months, the doors of the temple are being reopened for devotees. This time, the auspicious time for opening the doors has been fixed in the morning during Vrish Lagna, which was already announced on the occasion of Mahashivratri. During this time, the dates for the opening of other shrines were also decided.

The doors of Badrinath Temple will be opened on April 23, while the doors of Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple were opened for devotees on April 19. Now, with the opening of all four shrines, the Char Dham Yatra has fully commenced, and the movement of devotees from India and abroad has begun to increase.
