Stock Market Strong: Sensex Rises 160 Points, Nifty Crosses 24,410

 

On the first trading day of the week, Monday, April 20, the Indian stock market started with a positive trend. Both the major benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50, opened in the green during early trade, showing strong investor confidence in the market.

However, shortly after the start of trading, volatility was observed in the market. Sensex and Nifty briefly slipped into the red, but this decline did not last long and a recovery was soon seen in the market again.

The 30-share BSE Sensex index opened with a gain of 139.36 points or 0.18 percent at the start of the day. The Sensex began trading at the level of 78,632.90, reflecting the positive mood of the market.

On the other hand, the NSE Nifty 50 also started trading with strength. A gain of 37.95 points or 0.16 percent was recorded in Nifty 50, and it opened at the 24,391.50 level. Despite early volatility, an overall atmosphere of stability and slight bullishness remained in the market.

By around 9:20 AM, a slight upward trend was observed in the Indian stock market. At this time, the BSE Sensex was trading at the 78,549 level with a gain of about 55 points. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 was also trading at the 24,360 level, recording a minor gain of 7 points. After initial fluctuations, an atmosphere of stability was visible in the market.

Speaking of major BSE stocks, the list of top gainers included big stocks like Trent, SBIN, ICICI Bank, Adani Ports, and L&T. A buying trend was seen in the shares of these companies, providing support to the index.

On the other hand, pressure was also seen in some major stocks. The top losers included giant stocks like HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, and Tata Steel, where selling pressure was evident.

Earlier, on Friday, April 17, strong gains were seen in the Indian stock market. Both major indices closed in the green that day. The Sensex closed at 78,493.54, up 504.86 points or 0.65 percent. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 also closed at 24,353.55, with a rise of 156.80 points or 0.65 percent.

In Friday’s trading session, good buying was also seen in the market, where stocks like Power Grid, Reliance, Adani Ports, Titan, and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers. Meanwhile, shares like Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL Tech, L&T, and Eterna recorded a decline.
